Inaugral Ta Tatau Health and Safety Workshop held in Auckland

Le Va’s convergence of clinical and cultural knowledge is evident in our recent support of safe practice for traditional Samoan tattooists. This is the first occasion where Tufuga Ta Tatau (master tattoo artist) residing in New Zealand and Samoa gathered to talanoa about health and safety standards, while maintaining the essence of this important traditional practice.

We would also like to acknowledge Josephine Samuelu, Tuu’u Mary Kalala Autagavaia and the Epiphany Pacific Trust for organising the event, and developing this short video on the workshop. We will be working with Josephine, Tuu’u and the Trust to develop public health resources about tatau within the coming months.
