2018 Pasifika public health grants

In May 2018, 11 recipients were confirmed to receive a 2018 Pasifika public health grant.

The grants, which were awarded for the first time, aim to reduce the disproportionate number of Pasifika peoples having poorer health status than the general New Zealand population.

Our work is guided by Ministry of Health priorities, as outlined in Taeao o Tautai: Pacific Public Health Workforce Development Implementation Plan 2012-2017. In particular, our focus is on reducing inequalities in health outcomes by developing a capable workforce. The Pasifika public health grants strengthen the Pasifika public health workforce, by encouraging and supporting Pasifika already working in the public health workforce to study and gain qualifications.

We will be delighted to profile individual recipients in the future. In the meantime you can check out our infographics below for more detailed results.
