Description
Mānava Ola: LifeKeepers for Pacific combines an internationally proven, evidence-informed approach with Pacific knowledge and experience, to provide a programme that is community focused, clinically safe and culturally responsive.
During Mānava Ola training, participants will:
- learn how to talk responsibly about suicide
- gain an understanding of the risk factors, protective factors and warning signs
- learn strategies for how to have the conversation and ask about suicide
- learn how to respond with confidence and how to engage different supports and services to get help if required
- gain an understanding of how Pasifika cultural beliefs and practices influence our wellbeing.
Is this training for you?
The Mānava Ola workshop is recommended for people 18 years and over. In addition, it is not a treatment or support group and some content may cause distress for vulnerable people.
