Resources and tools
Pasifika peoples experience disproportionately high rates of disabilities, yet have been traditionally lower users of Ministry of Health funded disability support services. To help address inequities, Le Va’s resources and tools aim to:
Reduce stigma and promote inclusion – such as our suite of Church resources and workshops (in English and Pasifika languages), including our Words Matter guides.
Enhance access by ensuring that Pasifika communities can make informed decisions on accessing support. Your Guide to Disability Support Services in plain English and six Pasifika languages is in high demand.
Improve quality by providing training and tools to the disability workforce that further compliment cultural responsiveness, such as our Engaging Pasifika cultural competency training and Organisational Guidelines.
