Pasifikology Community funded initiative: Surviving the Storm – A Suicide postvention web-based resource
Pasifikology is a network of those involved in the Pasifika psychology sector in New Zealand, and was a recipient of the FLO Pasifika Community fund. Pasifikology’s initiative was to develop a postvention online resource.
Samoan Matua’s communicating suicide prevention
The ‘Mātua project’ led by Dot Greenfield from Vaka Tautua, builds awareness among Samoan Mātua of the issues being faced by Pacific communities relating to suicide and other challenging issues, such as mental health or intergenerational dynamics. The project is funded through Le Va’s FLO community fund.
New Pasifika media resource for suicide prevention
Suicide is an issue of genuine public concern, and the Pasifika media perform an important role informing and educating communities about this complex issue.
