Ki Te Ao Mārama: Understanding trauma-informed approaches & pathways to healing | Workshop 3

Overview

Join us for the third and final online workshop in this series from Le Va, Te Pou and Whāraurau aimed at strengthening your knowledge and skills in trauma-informed and health-centred care.

In our previous workshops, we explored what trauma is and how it impacts the people we serve. Now, our focus is on how you can build a trauma-informed environment within your organisation.

As a trauma-informed environment is built collectively, leadership at all levels is required, from frontline practice to supervision and policy. Consequently, this session is open to everyone – from frontline kaimahi, to leaders and educators across the mental health and addictions sector.

Workshop 3

Understanding leadership and the organisational aspects of implementing a trauma informed approach

Presented by Wendy Donaldson (Te Pou) and Karin Isherwood (Whāraurau), this session will explore:

  • Collective leadership and how every team member contributes to a trauma-informed culture
  • Practical strategies for embedding trauma-informed principles into everyday work and long-term projects
  • How to align formal processes with the wellbeing of kaimahi

The session also highlights sustainable wellbeing practices to help you and your colleagues prevent burnout and work in healthier, more supported ways.

Note: Registrations for this event are managed by Whāraurau. By selecting ‘Register Now’, you will be redirected to the Whāraurau website where you will be able to register for the workshop.
