Peter-Jared (PJ) King

Peter Jared, commonly known as PJ, is a prominent figure in New Zealand’s basketball community and a dedicated advocate for youth development. Raised in South Auckland, PJ found solace and direction in basketball during his formative years, which played a pivotal role in shaping his life’s path.

Transitioning from player to mentor, PJ has been instrumental in coaching and nurturing young talent. He emphasises teaching life skills through basketball, aiming to build not just skilled athletes but also well-rounded individuals. His coaching philosophy centers on instilling fundamentals and fostering personal growth among his players.

He actively participates in initiatives such as the Father’s Fono, which supports Pasifika fathers in raising thriving families and promoting healthy, consensual relationships.
