Papali’i Johnny Siaosi (KSM) is a highly respected Pacific leader and cultural advisor with decades of experience supporting the wellbeing and development of Pacific communities in New Zealand. He is co-founder of the Drua Va Manuia Village, an initiative designed to provide culturally safe spaces for Pacific people with lived experience in addiction and recovery. This initiative later expanded into 3Village1island, a collective that brings together three Pacific lived experience communities: Mana Pasifika (Disabilities), Tangata Moana Nui (Mental Health), and Drua Va Manuia (Addiction).
Papali’i Johnny has played a central role in guiding these initiatives to remain grounded in lived experience, cultural identity and community relevance. He provides strategic advice and mentorship to community organisations, leaders and government partners, fostering leadership pathways that are values-based, culturally responsive and future-focused. His work emphasises the importance of collective healing, relational leadership and visibility for Pacific voices across social services, health and community development.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to Pacific and Cook Islands communities in New Zealand, Papali’i Johnny was awarded the King’s Service Medal (KSM) in 2025. Beyond his formal roles, he continues to champion initiatives that strengthen Pacific identity, support community resilience and empower people with lived experience to take on leadership roles that drive meaningful change.
