Nele Kalolo

Youth and Climate Change Advocate

Nele Kalolo (Faga, Vaimoso, Iva, Safotu, Puleia) is a Savai’i-born, South Auckland-raised advocate passionate about amplifying Pacific youth voices in intergenerational dialogue. Inspired by the vibrant energy of Pacific youth leaders, she has supported youth platforms in organizations like Le Va, PHARMAC, and UNICEF Aotearoa.

Nele has shared Pacific youth stories internationally as a New Zealand Youth Delegate at the UN COP28 in Dubai and as a Prime Minister Scholar at UC Chile. Currently working in the climate sector with organizations like MANAVA for Climate Resilience, Pacific Climate Warriors, and the Fossil Fuels Non-proliferation Treaty, she creates pathways for Pacific peoples to utilize ancestral knowledge in combating climate change.

Nele believes cultural connection is foundational to Pacific youth leadership and nurtures families to encourage future generations of Pacific excellence.
