Megan Mashali
Co-founder, Te Kiwi Māia Charitable Trust
Megan is the co-founder of Te Kiwi Māia, a charity dedicated to supporting the recovery, rehabilitation, and resilience of New Zealand’s military personnel and first responders. After witnessing the challenges many face in finding support for their physical and mental wellbeing, she helped establish Te Kiwi Māia to provide a safe space for healing, reconnection, and purpose beyond service.
Alongside her work with Te Kiwi Māia, Megan has been a proud supporter of rehabilitation and recovery through adaptive sports, serving as Assistant Manager for the New Zealand Invictus Games Team, an international sporting event for wounded, injured, and ill service personnel. In this role, she has worked closely with competitors, helping them harness the power of sport to rebuild confidence and community.
After joining the Royal New Zealand Navy in 2009 as a musician, Megan is now a Maritime Logistics Officer, holding the rank of Lieutenant. Her military career has shaped her leadership and resilience, from training new recruits to supporting operational missions at sea.
Today, she brings her experience, passion, and insights to this conference to explore how we can better support those who serve our communities.
