Bula Vinaka and Noa’ia e Mauri.
I proudly hail from the village of Yadrana on the island of Lakeba in Lau, Fiji, and from the villages of Juju and Pepjei in Rotuma. I was born and raised in Fiji and now call Aotearoa home, thanks to the sacrifice, hard work and blessing of my parents, who bravely moved our family to New Zealand nearly 20 years ago.
I hold a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biology, as well as a Bachelor of Media Design, majoring in UX/UI Design. I have been an active member of the New Zealand Rotuman Fellowship in Aotearoa, where I serve as Communications Lead, supporting community initiatives, particularly in the digital space.
Alongside my community work, I spent six years in the private-sector EdTech space, supporting hundreds of high students across New Zealand and Australia to excel in their studies and gain admission into their desired tertiary programmes.
The culmination of these experiences deepened my passion for service and community, while my scientific background has given me a strong understanding of, and respect for, Le Va’s evidence-based and clinical approaches.
In my role as Communications Coordinator with Le Va, I am excited to amplify Le Va’s voice across digital platforms, and use storytelling and media to connect, inform and engage Pasifika communities.
Mo yaga ka vinaka vakaniu, e sega ni dua na tikina e biu. Be as useful as the coconut tree, no part is wasted. (Fijian proverb)
