Research

The availability of high quality, robust and reliable research and information is important for Le Va. There is currently a dearth of published information and research into Pasifika mental health and addiction and Le Va wants to be instrumental in changing this.

Le Va currently has three research projects on the go.

  • Kato Fetu - Pacific Mental Health and Addictions Research Agenda.
  • Te Rau Hinengaro - a strategy for translating the Pacific findings of the Te Rau Hinengaro study into action.
  • Knowledge Waves - Pacific Health Dialog Journal.

Research is an effective way to explore and present new ideas and models for analysis and review, to translate into tangible and effective initiatives and tools to enhance the lives of Pasifika people experiencing mental illness.

Le Va works closely with Te Pou's research programme, which takes the lead role in translating research into action for the wider sector.
